We're looking for a motivated Paraplanner to join our clients busy practice team supporting independent financial advisers. This is a genuine paraplanning role for someone who values the craft of technical financial planning and wants to build a career in the profession.
You'll be working closely with our clients Practice Team Leader and supporting advisers across client reviews, new business cases, and ongoing service work. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, professionally curious, and able to work both independently and collaboratively within a small, supportive team.
Report Writing & Technical Work:
Produce high-quality suitability reports covering new business, pension transfers, and investment advice
Work collaboratively with advisers to sense-check recommendations and ensure suitability
Conduct financial analysis using cashflow modelling software (Dynamic Planner)
Complete attitude to risk assessments and produce client reports using Dynamic Planner
Research and analyse investment funds and products using FE Analytics
Challenge and refine adviser recommendations to reach the correct client outcome
Ensure all work meets FCA suitability requirements and Consumer Duty obligations
Maintain comprehensive file documentation to compliance standards
Client Support & Administration:
Analyse information received from Letters of Authority and data gathering exercises
Liaise with product providers to resolve queries and chase outstanding information
Assist with death claims and beneficiary support processes
Support annual service work and client review processes
Maintain accurate client records on Intelliflo office system
True Potential Integration Work:
Support the firm's True Potential platform integration project
Assist with client data migration and validation work
Complete TP-related cases and documentation
Quality & Compliance:
Review and sense-check adviser work across all areas including vulnerability assessments, capacity for loss, and recommendation justifications
Participate in file quality reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
Stay current with regulatory changes and product developments
Maintain professional development through relevant CPD
Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of UK financial services products (pensions, ISAs, investments, protection)
Awareness of FCA regulations and suitability requirements
Ability to analyse financial information and assess risk
Strong written communication skills for report writing

Self-directed learner who can use resources (online learning, technology tools, provider support) to research unfamiliar concepts

Practical Skills:
Competent with Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel)

Previous paraplanner, administrator, or relevant financial services experience
CII qualifications (Level 4 Diploma or working towards)
Knowledge of financial planning software
Understanding of trust planning, estate planning, or IHT
